If you’re gearing up for some timely spring cleaning in your home, make sure the bathroom is on your list of areas to clean. While it’s not the most exciting task to take on, the end results can be incredibly rewarding. And, at Jacuzzi Bath Remodel, we’re here to help make your bathroom spring cleaning a breeze with a handy checklist. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get the ball rolling on your spring cleaning so that you can enjoy a sparkling clean bathroom in your home.

Gather Your Supplies

To get started, you’ll want to make sure you have all of the cleaning supplies and equipment you’ll need to clean your entire bathroom. The cleaning supplies you’ll need will depend on the specific features of your bathroom, but you can typically expect to need:

  • Cloths or rags – Microfiber materials will work best for picking up dirt and dust. For the floors, a mob can also be used for that surface.
  • Cleaning chemicals – This is up to your personal preference, but can include vinegar and baking soda, disinfecting all-purpose sprays, bleach, and other chemicals.
  • Toilet bowl cleaner – You can also include toilet bowl tabs if you choose to use them.
  • Glass cleaner – While you can use standard cleaning chemicals on your mirrors, many prefer glass cleaner to avoid streaks and other blemishes from appearing on the glass.

You’ll also want to have a trash bag handy for any waste, and you can choose to wear a pair of rubber gloves based on your personal preference as well.

Clear Out Your Items

Once you have your supplies ready, it’s time to clear out any loose items in the bathroom. This includes bath and hand towels, toothbrushes, personal hygiene supplies, and decorations. You’ll want to clear these items out of the bathroom so that they’re out of the way while you’re cleaning.

Do a Dry Run

Starting with a dry rag or cloth can help remove any dust or dirt that’s accumulated over time before you wipe down surfaces with cleaning chemicals. A good rule of thumb is to start from the top and work your way down. Start with high shelves, the top edge of medicine cabinets, and continue to work your way down to the bathroom countertop. This way, if any dust falls as you’re cleaning, it won’t fall onto a clean surface and create more work for you.

Spray, Wipe & Clean All Surfaces

Next, it’s time for the actual cleaning of the surfaces. Using the disinfectant or cleaning chemical of your choice, wipe down walls, cabinets, countertops, the bathtub or shower, and the toilet. If there are any areas where soap scum has built up or grout lines are dirty, you may need to pay special attention. There are typically specialized cleansers, such as soap scum removers, that you can find for specific problem areas. These areas may also require a little extra elbow grease to get them clean.

Rinse with Water

Once all surfaces are clean, it’s time for a final wipe down or rinse with water. This will remove any chemical residue left on your countertops, shower walls, or other surfaces, leaving you with a sparkling clean bathroom.
